Titans' Smith joins Redskins as O-coordinator
The Washington Redskins completed their coaching staff under new coach Jim Zorn, hiring Sherman Smith as offensive coordinator Friday. Smith comes from the Tennessee Titans, where he was the running backs coach since 1995 as well as an assistant head coach for the last two seasons. "It was a hard decision because I couldn't make a bad decision," Smith said. Smith said he was drawn by the chance to reunite with ex-teammate Zorn.

The NFC East had the conference's top seed and the Super Bowl champ. But Alex Marvez says there's still room for the Eagles.

Agent: Titans plan to tag Haynesworth
The agent for Albert Haynesworth said the Tennessee Titans will designate the defensive tackle as the team's franchise player by Thursday's deadline. Agent Chad Speck said he talked with general manger Mike Reinfeldt on Friday and both sides are working on a long-term contract. Speck doesn't anticipate a deal being completed before the deadline for teams to declare franchise players. The franchise designation will guarantee that Haynesworth is paid $6.
