"I look forward to clearing my good name"

Well Mike, looks like clearing your good name is out of the question.

If you haven't heard, Micheal Vick today pleaded guilty to charges of leading an illegal dogfighting ring. Heres the right up from Fox Sports.

Michael Vick's lawyer said Monday the NFL star will plead guilty to federal dogfighting conspiracy charges, putting the Atlanta Falcons quarterback's career in jeopardy and leaving him subject to a possible prison term.

The offense is punishable by up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, although federal sentencing guidelines most likely would call for less.

"After consulting with his family over the weekend, Michael Vick asked that I announce today that he has reached an agreement with federal prosecutors regarding the charges pending against him," lead defense attorney Billy Martin said in a statement.

"Mr. Vick has agreed to enter a plea of guilty to those charges and to accept full responsibility for his actions and the mistakes he has made. Michael wishes to apologize again to everyone who has been hurt by this matter."

Vick's plea hearing will be Aug. 27, Martin said.

I find the change in tone from his initial statement rather comical.
Today in court I pleaded innocent to the allegations made against me. I take these charges very seriously and I look forward to clearing my good name. I respectfully ask all of you to hold your judgment until all of the facts are shown. Above all, I would like to say to my mom I am sorry for what she has had to go through in this most trying of times. It's caused pain for my family and I apologize to my family. I also want to apologize to my Falcon teammates for not being with them."

I'm starting to think that Vick may have had some weed in that water bottle after all.

The man's always tryin to keep a brotha down.

I want to know where Mr. Anonymous was way down there condemning us for jumping to conclusions? Seriously, I understood innocent until proven guilty and that it's wrong to jump to conclusions. But I also understand that when you go to as extreme measures as this group went to cover and conceal a massive Pit Bull operation, there's more going on the behind the black fence than a breeding operation.

Ya, Mr. Anonymous who blasted us for "jumping to conclusions" is nowhere to be found. He had no balls then, and i guess he's busy looking for them. You'll be looking forever, asswipe.
