NFL Games to Watch this Weekend
Chargers 1-1 Packers 2-0
The Packers are off to a quick start but face their first real opponent this season in San Diego. San Diego has stumbled out of the gate this season and need this win to get on track.
Who will Win? Chargers
49ers 2-0 Steelers 2-0
The Steelers and the Niners records are the same but both took two very different ways to get their. The Steelers have dominated their two previous games, while the Niners have had to claw to victory in both of theirs.
Who Will Win? Steelers
Colts 2-0 Texans 2-0
The Colts have had a history of problems with the Texans when they were bad. I wonder what will happen now that they don't suck. Colts need to jump out ahead early and let their defense go after the QB.
Who Will Win? Colts
Bengals 1-1 Seahawks 1-1
Both of these teams have had hard losses. The Bengals scored 45 on the Browns and still lost, while the Seahawks were down 17 at the half to the Cardinals scored 20 unanswered points then ended up losing 23-20.
Who Will Win? Seahawks
Cowboys 2-0 Bears 1-1
This will be one of the more interesting games this week. The Cowboys offense is firing well, but their secondary is horrible. Chicago's defense is excellent but their offense is horrible. The Cowboys need to limit their penalties and big plays, Chicago needs to pull Rex Grossman.
Who Will Win? Cowboys

Black QB's Face More Criticism......Yea Right
Let me start off by saying I am neither black, nor have ever been or know the full pressures of quarterbacking in the NFL. With that said, Donavan McNabb is full of crap when he said that black NFL quarterbacks face more pressure, scrutiny and criticism than their white counterparts. If anything it is the complete opposite.
Heres a good comparison. Both Peyton Manning and John Elway were always under pressure from the media due to their big game let downs. Both were always labeled as one of those guys who could never win the big game, and didn't have what it takes. Neither of them bitched, they took the scrutiny, came back and were successful.
Donavan McNabb has been to the NFC championship game several times and lost, made it to the Superbowl and threw 3 crucial interceptions. He personally sent the trophy to New England, but how much heat did he take for that. None, because he is black. Is he labeled as the guy who can't win the big game? No, he has just had a couple of unfortunate breaks.
Maybe Donavan, the criticism your getting now isn't because your black, but because you are playing like shit. Maybe you should take a look at Rex Grossman and Eli Manning before you start wining and playing the race card.

Sunday NFL Scores Roundup
Patriots 38 Chargers 14
With Camera-Gate behind them, the Patriots crushed the Chargers on Sunday night, carving up the San Diego defense for 423 yards of offense.
Tom Brady continued to look towards new target Randy Moss, who caught eight passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns.
Adalius Thomas had an interception return for a touchdown.
Broncos 23 Raiders 20 (OT)
Jason Elam kicked the game-winner for the second week in a row as a key Broncos timeout nullified a Sebastian Janikowski field goal that would have won it for the Raiders.
The Raiders rushed the field after Janikowski nailed a 52-yard field goal at 11:13 of overtime but the officials ruled Denver called a timeout just before the snap. On the retry, Janikowski's kick hit the left upright.
The Raiders had come back from a 14-point halftime deficit to take a 20-17 thanks to a pair of Denver QB Jay Cutler miscuses that led to a safety and interception return for a touchdown.
Bears 20 Chiefs 10
The Chiefs had a chance to beat the Bears, but failed to capitalize on several opportunities.
While Chicago's offense struggled for a second straight, Devin Hester proved the punch with a 73-yard punt return for a score and also set up a field goal with another return.
Rex Grossman threw two interceptions and was sacked three times.
Ravens 20 Jets 13
Ray Lewis picked off the potential tying score in the end zone with 1:04 left to foil a Kellen Clemens' led comeback by the Jets and preserve the Ravens 20-13 win.
Clemens, named the starter for injured Jets QB Chad Pennington, was picked off twice and outdone by Kyle Boller who threw for 185 yards and two TDs subbing for banged up Baltimore starter Steve McNair.
The Ravens led 17-3 after three quarters before Clemens passed for 176 yards and marched the Jets down to the Baltimore seven-yard line before Lewis foiled the rally.
Cardinals 23 Seahawks 20
The Cardinals blew another big lead Sunday, but unlike last season's heart-breaking loss to the Bears, they recovered in time to beat the Seahawks.
Matt Leinart threw for nearly 300 yards and Edgerrin James rushed for more than 100 yards, but it was Neil Rackers' third field goal of the night with one second left that completed Arizona's comeback.
The Seahawks, who got a touchdown pass from Matt Hasselbek and a TD run from Shaun Alexander, trailed 17-0 before scoring 20 unanswered points. Rakers would erase that advantage.
Cowboys 37 Dolphins 20
This time, Tony Romo had plenty of help from his friends on the defensive side of the ball, and instead of a shootout the Cowboys rolled to an easy win.
Romo passed for two touchdowns, but it was the defense that shined, intercepting Dolphins quarterback Trent Green four times in a 37-20 win.
The Dolphins (0-2) finished with five turnovers, and managed just 61 yards rushing. Marion Barber rushed for 89 yards and scored twice on the ground for the Cowboys (2-0).
Lions 20 Vikings 17 (OT)
A sloppy game came to a sloppy end Sunday in Detroit.
After the Vikings and Lions struggled through four turnover-filled quarters, Detroit kicker Jason Hanson lined up for a potential game-winning 48-yard field goal in the final minute. The kick, though, hooked wide. On the ensuing drive, Minnesota kicker Ryan Longwell hit the upright on his shot to win the game from 52 yards.
The game went to overtime, where the Vikings won the toss. Quarterback Brooks Bollinger, who replaced an injured Tarvaris Jackson earlier in the drive, fumbled a third-down snap (the 10th total turnover of the game). The Lions capitalized on the good field position, and Hanson made good on his second attempt, a game winner from 37 yards out.
Texans 34 Panthers 21
Visiting Houston fell behind early, but rallied to stun Carolina 34-21 and start the season 2-0 for the first time in franchise history.
Trailing 14-0 in the first quarter, the Texans exploded for 31 unanswered points to put the game out of reach.
Houston's Matt Schaub continued to impress at quarterback, throwing a pair of first-half touchdown passes to Andre Johnson and completing16-of-21 passes for 179 yards before intermission.
Steve Smith caught three touchdown passes for the Panthers (1-1).
Browns 51 Bengals 45
Cleveland found a cure for its struggling offense Sunday -- a dose of the Bengals' porous defense.
Cincinnati could not contain new starting quarterback Derek Anderson, who threw for 328 yards and five touchdowns as the Browns escaped with a wild 51-45 win to snap a five-game losing streak.
Jamal Lewis tacked on 216 rushing yards, and the Browns held off a furious last-minute march by the Bengals, who got six TD passes from Carson Palmer. Palmer threw two TDs each to T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson, who surpassed Issac Curtis to become the team' s all-time leader in receiving yardage.
The two teams combined for more than 1,000 yards of total offense and 12 touchdowns in a game that featured five lead changes in the second quarter alone.
Colts 22 Titans 20
Vince Young and the Tennessee Titans have run out of magic, at least against the Indianapolis Colts.
Peyton Manning threw for 312 yards and a touchdown, and the Colts held off Tennessee for a 22-20 victory Sunday when the Titans couldn't pull off a final-drive comeback.
Young managed 184 yards and a touchdown. The Titans had the ball back with in the final minute, but couldn't get into field goal range.
Bucs 31 Saints 14
At 35, Joey Galloway isn't showing any signs of slowing down. Just ask the bewildered New Orleans Saints, who never seem to be able to catch up with Tampa Bay's speedy receiver.
Galloway caught four passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns, tormenting the Saints for the sixth straight game between the NFC South rivals and leading the Buccaneers to a 31-14 victory Sunday.
The Saints (0-2) were embarrassed for the second consecutive week and have been outscored 72-24 after having one of the NFL's most explosive offenses and reaching the NFC championship game last season.
49ers 17 Rams 16
It was the kind of simple catch Dante Hall has made many times, camped under a punt, his arm waving for a fair catch.
This time, late in the fourth quarter Sunday, he dropped it. Marcus Hudson recovered for San Francisco, setting up the winning field goal in the 49ers' 17-16 win over St. Louis.
The Rams' Jeff Wilkins missed a 56-yard field goal try with 59 seconds to play, the ball falling about a yard short of the goal post.
49ers running back Frank Gore, playing just days after the death of his mother, finished with 81 yards and two touchdowns.
Steelers 26 Bills 3
Emotion, heart and enthusiasm took the Buffalo Bills a long way. Unfortunately for them, their offense couldn't help.
Willie Parker ran for a touchdown and 126 yards and Ben Roethlisberger threw for a score as the Pittsburgh Steelers controlled the clock and the tempo while pulling away from Buffalo for a lopsided victory.
It was the Bills' first game since tight end Kevin Everett badly injured his spinal cord.
The Bills, wearing T-shirts under their jerseys in honor of Everett that will be sold for charity, stood up physically to the favored Steelers for much of a game.
Packers 35 Giants 13
While the status of Eli Manning's right shoulder was the story heading into the game, Brett Favre quickly claimed the spotlight.
Favre hit his first 14 passes of the second half and threw three touchdown passes to rally the Packers to a 35-13 victory over the Giants. With the win, Favre became the winningest quarterback in NFL history.
The victory was the 149th of Favre's 17-year career and gave him one more than Hall of Famer John Elway.
Jaguars 13 Falcons 7
While it wasn't pretty, the Jaguars did what it took to get a much-needed 13-7 win against the Falcons.
The defense sacked Joey Harrington seven times and held Atlanta under 100 yards rushing.
David Garrard finished 17-of-25 for 272 yards and scrambled five times for 20 yards.

Bills Kevin Everett Likely Paralyzed

It is likely that Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett will likely never regain a full range of body motion.
"A best-case scenario is full recovery, but not likely," Dr. Andrew Cappuccino said, one day after performing a four-hour operation on the player. "I believe there will be some permanent neurological paralysis. ... A full neurological recovery was bleak, dismal."
According to the AP, "Everett is currently under forced sedation and breathing through a respirator as doctors wait for the swelling to lessen. Cappuccino said it will take up to three days to determine the severity of the injury and the recovery process.
During the operation, Cappuccino repaired a break between the third and fourth vertebrae and also alleviated the pressure on the spinal cord. Doctors made a bone graft and inserted a plate and four screws."
Everett sustained the injury during the opening kickoff of the second half of the Bills season opener against the Broncos. Everett fell to the ground after his helmet hit Hixon high on the left shoulder and side of the helmet.
This is a terrible event, and our thoughts and prayers go out to Everett and his family.

Sunday NFL Scores Roundup
Cowboys 45 Giants 35
Dallas came into its matchup with New York with a vaunted defense, but came out winning an offensive battle. Both Tony Romo and Eli Manning threw for more than 300 yards and four touchdowns in a wild game. Romo also scored on a touchdown run.
The Cowboys' Terrell Owens caught three passes, two for touchdowns, while the Giants' Plaxico Burress and Amani Toomer combined to catch 17 balls for 235 yards and three touchdowns - all by Burress.
Giants running back Brandon Jacobs and defensive end Osi Umenyiora suffered knee injuries in the loss, while Manning was knocked out late in the game.
Bears 3 Chargers 14
LaDainian Tomlinson didn't have his usual day at the office, but that was just fine with the way Rex Grossman and Co. were playing. L.T. and the Chargers overcame a slow start with a strong second half.
L.T. ran for a touchdown and threw for another and Philip Rivers threw for 191 yards on 22-of-31 passing as San Diego won 14-3. The Bears fell to last place in the NFC Central after the division's three other teams won Sunday.
Chicago continued its offensive frustrations from last season, as Rex Grossman threw for just 145 yards with one interception. Cedric Benson ran 19 times for 42 yards in his first game as the featured back, as the Bears shipped Thomas Jones to the Jets in the offseason.
Lions 36 Raiders 21
For one week at least, the Lions will be atop the standings in the NFC North.
Jon Kitna led a fourth-quarter comeback and a couple of key defensive plays by Dewayne White helped Detroit rally past the Raiders 36-21 on Sunday.
Kitna threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to Shaun McDonald with 4:15 remaining and White forced two late turnovers that helped the Lions recover after blowing a 17-point lead.
Bucs 6 Seahawks 20
Matt Hasselback and Shaun Alexander displayed midseason form and the Seahawks' defense collared the beat up Buccanneers in solid 20-6 season-opening victory.
Tampa Bay QB Jeff Garcia and RB Carnell Williams left the game with injuries on back-to-back plays in the third quarter, ending any hopes of Bucs' comeback.
Hasselbeck connected on 17 of 24 passes, including the game-winning touchdown, while Alexander added 105 yards and a score.
Broncos 15 Bills 14
Leave it to Jason Elam to produce in the clutch.
Elam, who has scored more for one team than anyone else in NFL history, hit a 42-yard field goal just before time ran out to lift the Denver Broncos to a 15-14 victory over the Buffalo in their opener Sunday.
Elam, who had missed two field goals earlier, almost didn't have a chance to make up for his misses. The Broncos were out of timeouts when Jay Cutler hit Javon Walker for an 11-yard catch with 14 seconds left.
Dolphins 13 Redskins 16 (OT)
Jason Campbell struggled, Jon Jansen was injured and it was still a good day for the Washington Redskins.
And that was thanks largely to Antwaan Randle El.
Randle El had a career-best 162 receiving yards and contributed to every Washington score in regulation.
Even so, the game wasn't won until Shaun Suisham kicked a 39-yard field goal 5:36 into the extra period to spoil the NFL head coaching debut of Miami's Cam Cameron.
Panthers 27 Rams 13
Steve Smith conjured echoes of the 2003 playoffs with another long touchdown catch that propelled the Carolina Panthers to victory and quieted a road crowd.
Smith outsprinted Tye Hill on a 68-yard catch for the go-ahead play in Carolina's 27-13 opening victory on Sunday. As Smith eased into the end zone, Hill stumbled and then slid on his stomach for several yards.
The play was reminiscent of Smith's 69-yard shocker in the second overtime of the division playoff game between the teams that left Rams safety Jason Sehorn grasping only air and sent Carolina to its first Super Bowl appearance.
Patriots 38 Jets 14
Tom Brady was well protected, and looked to be in midseason form. Randy Moss got loose for a 51-yard touchdown, and loudly announced his return as an NFL playmaker. Jets QB Chad Pennington had to come out of the game with an injury.
It all added up to a long day for the Jets, and an impressive opening-day victory for Brady and the Patriots.
Brady completed 22 of 28 passes and Moss had nine catches for 183 yards in an eye-popping Patriots debut as New England rolled to the victory at the Meadowlands.
Falcons 3 Vikings 24
The Vikings controlled the game on both sides of the ball in a convincing 24-3 win over the Falcons to open the season.
Minnesota's defense returned two Joey Harrington interceptions for touchdowns, while totaling six sacks on the day.
In his pro debut, Adrian Peterson rushed for 103 yards on 19 carries. He also caught a 60-yard touchdown pass to put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter.
Titans 13 Jaguars 10
Apparently, the Titans are doing just fine so far without Travis Henry in the backfield.
Chris Brown rushed for 175 yards, and Jacksonville rolled up nearly 300 yards on the ground in a 13-10 win at Jacksonville, exposing a Jaguars defense that was among the league leaders against the run last season.
David Garrard, who replaced Byron Leftwich at quarterback for the Jags, finished 17-of-30 for 204 yards and a touchdown, outdueling Vince Young on the day.
Steelers 34 Browns 7
The Pittsburgh Steelers haven't changed a bit under Mike Tomlin.
In their first game in 15 years without iconic coach Bill Cowher stalking the sideline, the Steelers looked the same while smashing and slapping around the Cleveland - again.
Ben Roethlisberger threw a career-high four touchdown passes and Pittsburgh rolled to a 34-7 win in Tomlin's NFL coaching debut and embarrassed the Browns, who had a disastrous season opener at home.
Packers 16 Eagels 13
Neither side looked sharp in a sloppy game filed with costly turnovers. However, the Packers capitalized on the Eagles? last mistake to win 16-13.
After Green Bay scored on a touchdown on a muffed punt earlier in the game, Mason Crosby's game-winning field goal was set up by a mishandle punt late in the fourth quarter.
Brett Favre struggled, but still did enough to tie John Elway's record with his 148th career victory as a starting quarterback.
Texans 20 Chiefs 3
Two new quarterbacks faced off for their respective teams Sunday, and Houston's Matt Schaub outplayed Kansas City's Damon Huard.
Schaub threw for 225 yards, including a 77-yard touchdown pass to Andre Johnson, and the Houston defense intercepted Huard twice in a 20-3 win.
The Texans limited Chiefs running back Larry Johnson to 43 yards on 10 carries, and DE Mario Williams returned a fumble 38 yards for Houston's other touchdown.

Colts Roll Saints

In the first game of the season, the Colts destroyed the Saints 41-10. Picking up where they left off last season, Peyton Manning hooked up in the in zone with Marvin Harrison once, and Reggie Wayne twice. Joseph Addia looked good with 118 yds and one TD.
All in all, the Colts look more dangerous than they did last season. They will probably roll off six or seven wins at the beginning of the season until they get to the Patriots.
What impresses me is that the Colts are the second youngest team in the league. That shows you how flawless they run their team from top to bottom. Once you have a great system like the Colts and the Patriots do, they can find anyone with the skill set they need and turn them into a star. Which would also explain why when star players leave the Colts, you never hear of them again.

Are You Ready For Some Football!!!!
The season finally gets kicked off tonight with what many are saying might be a Super Bowl preview tonight. Most are picking the Colts to drop this first game. I don't see how you can pick against, 1. The returning Super Bowl champs 2. Peyton Manning 3. Tony Dungy.
Sure they have lost some key players, but I have a hard time believing that Tony Dungy's squad who has won seven of its last eight season-opening games.

Eli Manning vs Tiki Barber......Who won?

Over the last few days, Eli Manning and Tiki Barber have been exchanging digs. (Full Story here) Tiki started it by saying Mannings
"personality hasn't been so that he can step up, make a strong statement and have people believe that it's coming from his heart. Last year about Week 12 I turned over the offensive motivational speech to Eli and he was gung-ho to do it, but he was uncomfortable doing it," Barber continued. "I think a lot of it had to do with vets being around - myself, Jeremy Shockey, Plaxico Burress. He didn't feel like his voice was going to be strong enough and it showed. Sometimes it was almost comical the way that he would say things."
Manning fired back saying
"I'm not going to lose any sleep about what Tiki has to say," Manning said before practice at the University at Albany. "I guess I could have questioned his leadership skills last year with calling out the coach and having articles about him retiring in the middle of the season, and (how) he's lost the heart (to play). As a quarterback you're reading that your running back has lost the heart to play the game and it's about the 10th week. I can see that a little bit at times."
Even though he hasn't played as well as expected, I think Manning will either sink or swim this season.
As for the war of words between him and Tiki, he definitely won.

"I look forward to clearing my good name"

Well Mike, looks like clearing your good name is out of the question.
If you haven't heard, Micheal Vick today pleaded guilty to charges of leading an illegal dogfighting ring. Heres the right up from Fox Sports.
Michael Vick's lawyer said Monday the NFL star will plead guilty to federal dogfighting conspiracy charges, putting the Atlanta Falcons quarterback's career in jeopardy and leaving him subject to a possible prison term.
The offense is punishable by up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, although federal sentencing guidelines most likely would call for less.
"After consulting with his family over the weekend, Michael Vick asked that I announce today that he has reached an agreement with federal prosecutors regarding the charges pending against him," lead defense attorney Billy Martin said in a statement.
"Mr. Vick has agreed to enter a plea of guilty to those charges and to accept full responsibility for his actions and the mistakes he has made. Michael wishes to apologize again to everyone who has been hurt by this matter."
Vick's plea hearing will be Aug. 27, Martin said.
I find the change in tone from his initial statement rather comical.
Today in court I pleaded innocent to the allegations made against me. I take these charges very seriously and I look forward to clearing my good name. I respectfully ask all of you to hold your judgment until all of the facts are shown. Above all, I would like to say to my mom I am sorry for what she has had to go through in this most trying of times. It's caused pain for my family and I apologize to my family. I also want to apologize to my Falcon teammates for not being with them."
I'm starting to think that Vick may have had some weed in that water bottle after all.
The man's always tryin to keep a brotha down.

In Trouble...Get a Haircut
Pacman went from dreds to buzz cut after his arrest at a strip club and insueing suspension.
I also noticed that dogfighter Mike Vick has cut off his long locks as well when he appeared for court on Friday to find that the two friends that Vick had posed in a picture with behind a pit bull that they were allegedly sponsoring both entered guilty pleas Friday.

Pacman turns himself in -Somebody hit this guy

Pacman Jones turned himself in to the authorities in Nevada this morning. He then the $10,000 bail and left.
Believe it or not, Jones has been involved in at least 11 separate police investigations, and is currently sought by Atlanta-area police for questioning in a shooting early Monday after a fight at a strip club there.
I wish someone would hit this guy in one of the shootings so I could stop talking about him.
Heres a couple tips when shooting at Pacman.
1. Don't hold the gun side ways.
2. Don't try and sling the bullets out of the barrel. This does not increase accuracy.
3. Don't yell obscenaties while shooting, just look down the barrel and line up the shot.
Seriously, these guys don't really want to shoot anyone, they just want to be able to go back to their friends and say they shot their gun off and look hard. If your going to do something, do it right.

Police after Jones for info after strip club shooting

If Packman keeps up his antics, it going to be game over.
According to Fox Sports,
Suspended NFL player Adam "Pacman" Jones was being sought by police for questioning about a shooting early Monday involving members of his entourage after a fight at an Atlanta strip club.
Jones, a cornerback for the Tennessee Titans on suspension following a melee and shooting at a Las Vegas strip club, his group and three other people got into a fight, apparently over a woman, at a club around 4 a.m., officer Ariel Toledo said.
After everyone involved left the strip club - the three people in one car, and Jones and his entourage in three other cars - someone in Jones' group shot at the car, and the others returned fire, Toledo said.
Toledo said Jones was not present when the shots were fired.
"We believe he knows some of his entourage who were involved in the shooting," Toledo said. "On himself, we do not have any charges on him. He wasn't there when the shooting occurred."
One person who was outside the vehicles and not involved in the dispute was injured by debris in the shooting and was treated by emergency medical technicians, Toledo said.
Manny Arora, Jones' attorney, said he was trying to find out what had happened from the police, but he understood Jones was sought only as a witness to the incident.
Authorities have also been investigating what role Jones had in a February shooting outside a Las Vegas club that left a bar employee paralyzed and two other people wounded.

Michael Vick investigated by Feds
Read between the lines here boys and girls, Michael Vick is F#cked.
"Using powerful laws that were enacted only a month ago (a bill known as HR 137), agents of the U.S. Department of Agriculture are determining whether Vick and others should be prosecuted for promoting and sponsoring dogfights. The new federal law makes it a felony to organize a dogfight. A subdivision of the Agriculture Department is pursuing similar cases elsewhere with considerable support from humane societies and local police departments. The Vick investigation is one of many across the U.S." -- ESPN
Ron Mexico is no longer cutting deals with a backwoods sherriff and prosecutor, he's done pissed on the United States Department of Agriculture who are going to treat him like their very own Osama bin Ladin. He's going to become their holy grail in the quest against the evils of dogfighting, which just happens to be the one thing that the current administration, the Humane Society and Pita agree on. That's right, Pamela Anderson is going to hate Michael Vick.

Apparantly, Tank Johnson is using his current jailtime to focus on his diet, get back into shape, straighten out his life, and be better devoted to his work and family life.
From the Chicago Sun Times
Records obtained by the Sun-Times show the Chicago Bear spent almost $700 buying assorted junk food during the 60 days he spent in the Cook County Jail.
While locked up for 60 days, Tank Johnson supplemented his jail diet with snacks including 162 beef sticks, 40 honey bun sweet rolls and 35 summer sausages.

TANK FUEL
Chicago Bears defensive lineman Tank Johnson spent 60 days in the Cook County Jail. While he got three meals a day, he also spent $665 ordering mostly junk food through the jail commissary, according to records obtained through the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. Among his orders:
Beef sticks 162
Honey buns 40
Summer sausage 35
Chips 35
Coffee 22
Fruit punch 10
Tuna fish 10
Jalapeno cheese spread 9
Tortillas 9
Refried beans 6
Cookies 6
Reese's cups 5
Lemonade 5
Swiss rolls 4
Dill pickles 3
Sugar 3
Cream 3
Oatmeal sandwiches 3
Bag of Jolly Ranchers 2
Butterfingers 2
Peanut butter bars 2
Cupcakes 1
And while the 6-foot-3, 300-pound lineman is built like a vending machine, the roster of items he ordered reads like he raided one, too:
• 162 beef sticks
• 40 honey bun sweet rolls
• 35 summer sausage blocks
• 35 bags of barbecue chips
While he and other inmates were given things like a scoop of grits for breakfast, a bologna sandwich for lunch and a chicken leg for dinner, that's hardly enough for a massive professional athlete.
Instead, Johnson supplemented his diet by relying on the commissary and all the treats it offers -- though nutritionists don't advise anyone follow Johnson's food choices.
"I think he was grasping at straws," said Lisa Dorfman, a Miami-based sports nutritionist who is a spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association and who spent nine years working in the federal prison system. "He was probably bored, hungry and trying to get whatever he could."
Hearing what Johnson ate, she said she has concerns not only about food quality, but also when he was eating and whether he was getting fluids. Records show Johnson ordered 10 small jugs of fruit punch, five lemonades and 22 cups of coffee, in addition to what he got with meals.
He also appeared to try to put together a Mexican dinner, ordering nine tortillas, six packs of refried beans and nine packages of jalapeno cheese spread during his stay.
Johnson, 25, spent 60 days in jail for violating his probation on gun charges and, records show, spent much of his time reading and visiting with friends and teammates.
He spent his time in isolation, away from other inmates and the weight room. He spent 23 hours a day in an 8-foot-by-10-foot cell.
Dorfman said while Johnson's diet may have been poor, he's got plenty of time to get back into shape. But whether he plays at all remains in question. He's awaiting word from the NFL on how long he'll be suspended.
Team officials say he's working out with teammates again and with team nutritionists.
Johnson's attorney and a Bears spokesman declined comment on his dietary habits while incarcerated.

Dolphins Sign Most Mediocre Quarterback in the NFL
Today the Dolphins announced they have reached an agreement with the Kansas City Chiefs to trade a fifth-round draft pick in 08 for veteran quarterback Trent Green.
If you ask me, they might as well have brought Drew Bledsoe out of retirement, they would get the same results. While were at it lets go ahead and get Ricky back on the field.
Give me a break, about 5 games into the season, sports analysts will be asking why Miami can't get it together. The answer.... their front office is a bunch of retards.
It doesn't matter how many moves you make in the off-season, if they are all bad, you are going to suck.
